Café Historique Presents Dr. Serhy Yekelchyk, “February 24, 2022: Russia Invades Ukraine”

Tue. April 5th 2022 6:00 - 7:00 doors at 5:00 (All Ages)
In our lifetime, few of us have seen a day that changed the world as much as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In three weeks it has exploded the post-WWII world order, disrupted world trade, split the world into a 21st-century version of a Cold War, and created the largest refugee crisis since the Second World War. And for the people of Ukraine, there is nothing cold about the devastation they are experiencing or the resistance they are demonstrating. Dr. Yekelchyk, who was born in Ukraine and specializes in the history of Ukrainian Russian relations, will explain the events that have led to this world-changing day.

Admission is free but registration on Eventbrite is required. Donations to the Red Cross efforts to help Ukraine will be welcomed. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/cafe-historique-tickets-304188755757

Due to a timing conflict we have had to reschedule until the fall Dr. Andrew Wender who was going to speak on “February 1, 1979: Khomeini returns from exile.”
