CanUS Jazz Band still going strong after 30 years continues to delight fans with their traditional jazz and swing repertoire. Each member of this band is a star in his or her own right but it is what they do collectively that brings fans back year after year.
For this show, Avram McCagherty will be away so well-known Vancouver drummer, Lauri Lyster, is making her first appearance with us accompanying her husband, Simon Stribling. She, of course, was the attraction that lured Simon from Australia with” love at first sight” which happened at the Chilliwack Jazz Festival. And now - they are residents of Victoria!
On trumpet, Alfons Fear, Simon Stribling trombone and alto, Al Pease, clarinet and tenor sax, Joey Smith on bass, and leader Toni Blodgett tickling the ivories. Singing will round out the entertainment and thanks to your generous support, we are still here!!
