Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Wes Carroll honed his craft at Vancouver Island University’s jazz studies program (2014) and is currently doing a masters in jazz performance at the University of Toronto. He walks a virtual tight-rope delicately balancing detailed arrangements with the power of spontaneity. He creates topical songs about important issues like social justice, surveillance, mental health, climate change and even a few love songs. Since early 2015, the group has enhanced and perfected their unique blend: stretching out into a world of hip-hop grooves, soul and electricity while not losing their jazz footing. Their summer tour was mostly cancelled this year with gigs booked in BC and Toronto including an opening set for the world renowned pianist Hiromi at the Victoria Jazz Festival. The extra time rehearsing has allowed them polish off six new tunes. In addition to their new music, they are currently promoting their second studio album, “Elephant in the Sea” (2020).
