Six-time Maple Blues Award winner and blues piano legend David Vest is also a prolific songwriter. His original tunes have been covered by artists ranging from Tammy Wynette to Downchild, and he's a Songwriter of the Year nominee.

After sold-out shows where he played the music of Ray Charles and Bob Dylan, it's high-time David and his red-hot band played his own music again. David's originals are far and away the most requested numbers at his shows -- tunes like "Crooked Politician," "Worried About the World," "Renoviction Man" and "Freight Train Rolling."

David's style of playing, singing, and songwriting were all formed over decades of performing in Gulf Coast juke joints, red dirt roadhouses, night clubs, and festivals where he played with such artists as Big Joe Turner, Bill Black's Combo, Jimmy T99 Nelson, and Miss Lavelle White. Maybe that's why so many of his songs manage to sound both fresh and ancient at the same time. And some have quite a story behind them, as you'll hear.
