JUNO-winning Canadian saxophonist/composer Christine Jensen has been a leading voice in the national jazz scene for the last 25 years and remains constantly in motion. Her JUNO-winning recordings include Treelines (2011) and Habitat (2014), the latter which received 5 stars in DownBeat Magazine. Her most recent quartet album, Day Moon, won the 2024 JUNO for “Jazz Album of the Year (Solo).” She has performed with Jeremy Pelt, Phil Dwyer, Gary Smuylan, Geoffrey Keezer, Lenny Pickett, Donny McCaslin, and Helen Sung. Along with her quartet. Jensen also works with the collective CODE Quartet with Montreal-based drummer Jim Doxas, bassist Adrian Vedady, and trumpeter Lex French, who the Victoria Jazz Society presented in 2022.
