The Band are considered one of the most popular and influential groups ever in American music. They defined the Woodstock generation and their music is a part of the Canadian and American landscape. There was a collective sound to “The Band”, but it made up five distinct individual voices and instruments mixing folk, blues, gospel, R&B, classical, and rock & roll.
