Pablo Cardenas plays a tribute to the legend of Canada Oscar Peterson’s, he will be interpreting his most famous and beloved pieces.

In a career spanning more than 60 years, Canadian jazz pianist and composer Oscar Peterson released over 200 recordings, won eight Grammy Awards, and received numerous other awards and honours. He is considered one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time and continues to inspire and challenge new generations of jazz musicians.

Pablo Cardenas is a Cuban Jazz pianist, composer, arranger and music educator that studied classical performance at the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana, Cuba. His high academic preparation has allowed him to explore proffesionally many of the styles he has been influenced by, like Afro-Cuban Jazz, Fusion, Contemporary Jazz, Bebop, Blues, Classical, R & B, Latin music, World music and others. He have been performing internationally since early 2000s, and have been residing in Canada since 2011, where he created different music projects like The West Coast Cuban Orchestra, The Latin Jazz Combo, The Afro-Cuban ensemble, and his Modern Jazz Trio just to mention a few, performing at the most important venues and festivals and collaborating with some the most accomplished musicians.

He has worked on keeping Cuban and Latin American folklore alive and developed the Latin music and dance scene in the area, and have kept offering his art to good causes at several events related to the defence of human rights and acceptance of diversities, like the 2019 “We Are One” edition where he performed as special guest.
