Join us for canadian roots music artist and snowboarding pioneer Lester Quitzau, a mellow guy who throws down a heavy groove. Quitzau has forged an exemplary career over the past 33 years, writing, recording and performing his music. His unique style and fluidity on slide, acoustic and electric guitars, coupled with his well crafted songs and warm vocals, are the fruits of this musical journey. What began as a solid traditional folk/ blues foundation has branched out into myriad of influences and a sound that is his own.

These days Lester is busy with many projects including touring with Tri Continental promoting their latest recording titled 'Dust Dance'. Lester also performs as a duo with Damian Graham (drums) and as a trio with Damian Graham (drums) and Peter Douse (bass).

The Arts on View Society was incorporated in December 2016 for the purpose of preserving Hermann’s Jazz Club and continuing to enhance the public’s appreciation of jazz, blues and world music through all-ages live performance. As the longest continuous running jazz club in Canada, Hermann’s has been at the forefront of providing the opportunity for local and visiting musicians to showcase their talents for the past 40 years.

The Arts on View Society operates Hermann’s Jazz Club, Hermann’s Upstairs, and the View Street Social.

The Arts on View Society has exercised an option to terminate the lease with the Estate of Hermann Nieweler for the 2nd and 3rd floor space, known as Hermann's Upstairs effective March 31, 2024. This change allows us to focus specifically on the operations of Hermann's Jazz Club and View Street Social while we explore new ways of programming the upstairs space in a financially viable manner. The Arts on View Society's vision remains - to create and sustain a performing arts center in downtown Victoria.
