Cafe Scientifique f. Jason Colby: How the ‘Killer’ became the ‘Orca'

Yet just a few decades ago, orcas were reviled and shot throughout the region. Join UVic environmental historian Dr. Jason M. Colby as he explores our transformed knowledge of and relationship with this apex marine predator. The author of Orca: How We Came to Know and Love the Ocean’s Greatest Predator (Oxford, 2018), Dr. Colby will incorporate material from interviews, archives, and personal explorations along the Pacific Coast.
