Cafe Scientifique- A Helping Hand to Those in Need

November 16th 2021 18:00 - 19:00 doors at 17:00 (All Ages) Join us to hear Kelly Knights and Michael Peirone, Victoria Hand Project talk about “A Helping Hand to Those in Need—Improving the World with 3D Printing”. The Victoria Hand Project is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide upper-limb prosthesis to amputees in developing countries, with limited or no access to prosthetic care. Started as a University of Victoria research initiative in 2014, the project now has partner clinics in eight countries around the world, empowering local communities to assemble and distribute 3D printed prosthetic arms to amputees who may not have access to any kind of prostheses otherwise.
Doors open at 5:00 and the talk will start at 6:00 pm. Menu items available for purchase. Parking is free after 5pm in the parkade beside Hermann’s. Seating is limited so please try to arrive prior to 6:00 to get a good seat.
