Title: 3D printing human tissues
How close is 3D printing technology to being able to generate human organs on demand? This talk will discuss cutting edge 3D bioprinting technology and how it can be used to generate human tissue models for drug screening. The Willerth lab at the University of Victoria uses a number of bioprinting platforms to print human tissue models for studying neurological diseases and disorders, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and glioblastoma. Dr. Willerth will discuss what is currently possible with 3D bioprinting technologies and the possibilities for the future.
