The UJAM (Universal Jazz Advocates and Mentors) Society is proud to sponsor and present the Vancouver Island Repertory Jazz Orchestra's: “A History of Big Band Swing”. In a narrated performance of the beginnings of swing through to the Golden Age, the band will highlight the music of Henderson, Moten, Ellington, Basie, Dorsey, James, Miller, Shaw, Barnet & Goodman. The Vancouver Island Repertory Jazz Orchestra’s mission is to promote an appreciation of this unique art form - large ensemble jazz - through authentic, and historically accurate, live, professional performance. This show will be entertaining, educational, and inspiring for jazz fans and aficionados, performers and students. The stellar Big Band is featuring some of the finest veteran musicians of the Victoria music scene directed by trumpeter David Flello.

There will be NO live audience - the concert will be live stream only!
