Introducing a captivating ensemble led by saxophonist Rowan Farintosh, featuring two of Victoria's finest guitarists. Guitar Band is a dynamic musical collective explores the realms of Jazz Improv with a fusion of contemporary genres such as Progressive Rock, Funk, R&B, and Hip-Hop. Audiences can anticipate an engaging repertoire comprising original compositions and unique covers from artists like Bon Iver, Radiohead, Men I Trust, Stevie Wonder, Louis Cole, Roy Hargrove, and Joshua Redman. Experience the return of Rowan Farintosh to Hermann's, promising another exhilarating night of music alongside some of Victoria’s top-notch musicians.

About Rowan Farintosh:
Rowan Farintosh, a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and award-winning performer based on Vancouver Island, is primarily a jazz musician with a broad spectrum of musical influences, including hip-hop, funk, R&B, ambient, and progressive rock. Composing music grounded in jazz improvisation, Rowan ensures accessibility to a wide variety of musical tastes. Regularly performing with his quintet at Hermann’s Jazz Club, Rowan also contributes his talents to popular music groups in Victoria, BC. Currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance at Vancouver Island University, Rowan spent two years at Toronto’s Humber College, studying with renowned saxophonists Kirk Macdonald and Alex Dean. Upon returning to the Island, he collaborated with acclaimed regional artists such as Monik Nordine, Phil Albert, Ben Heriques, and Brent Jarvis. In 2023, Rowan is set to release his first EP under his own name, following his initial sideman release with Marvin Thiele entitled “Mirage.”
