Be ready to Jump, Jive, & Wail, and Flip, Flop, and Fly -- like a Saturday Night Fish Fry -- as David and his band play the music of Big Joe Turner, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Bill Doggett, Jimmy T99 Nelson, Julia Lee, Floyd Dixon -- the artists whose music led directly to rock and roll.
Vest, who grew up near Tuxedo Junction, knows this music in his bones. He actually played with Big Joe Turner, Floyd Dixon, and T99, and he played jump blues from Kansas City to New Orleans (JazzFest) with Miss Lavelle White.
His band features, Tom Bowler, Ryan Tandy, Damian Graham, and Ryan Oliver, all of whom perform with other popular groups, and most of whom have played with Vest for more than ten years.
