World class Cuban pianist Pablo Cardenas is back with a tribute to Thelonious Monk, one of the best Jazz composers of all times. He will play Monk’s best hits “the Cuban way”, using Cuban rhythms, and adapting the melodies to this new concept. An stellar line up and special guests will be joining him on a musical experiment to not miss.

Thelonious Monk was an American jazz pianist and composer. He had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "Round Midnight”, Straight no chaser”, “Ruby my dear”, “Blue Monk”, “Well, you needn’t” and many more.

Monk's compositions and improvisations feature dissonances and angular melodic twists, these are consistent with his unorthodox approach to the piano, which combined a highly percussive attack with abrupt, dramatic use of switched key releases, silences, and hesitations.

He is one of five jazz musicians to have been featured on the cover of time magazine and the second-most-recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington.
