Opening for the Tom Vickery Trio, trombonist and mentor Nick La Riviere leads two community jazz combos. These groups have been rehearsing or months, working on essential skills for playing in a combo style, and now it’s time for them to show off what they’ve been working on. They’ll play some standards using lead sheets, and also play a couple of Nick’s wild arrangements. Note the early start time of 7pm, and stick around after for a jam hosted by the Tom Vickery Trio.
