Milk Crate Bandits are one of Vancouver’s best traditional jazz bands. They have released two
EPs, The Neighbourhood and The View From Out Here both of which were recorded in New
Orleans with Preservation Hall Trumpet player Kevin Louis. After a successful tours of BC in
The Fall of 2017 and the Spring of 2018, featuring Brad Shigeta (Ellington Orchestra, Illinois
Jacquet, Jack McDuff), The Neighbourhood hit #1 on the CBFX jazz charts. Following on from
this success Milk Crate Bandits present a performance of high-energy New Orleans jazz,
intimate acoustic moments and cheeky vocals. ‘“The Neighbourhood” is an incredible integration of New Orleans authentic jazz, scenic Vancouver lyrical illustrations, and original composing that results in a stunning collection of new music’ - Vintage Swing Review (2017)
