CanUS Jazz Band & Bob Cadwallader

Sun. July 22nd 2018 3 pm - 6 pm doors at 2 pm (All Ages)
Presented by: Hermann's Jazz Club
Dine and Dance while you are entertained by one of Victoria's premier dixieland & swing bands who bring all 15 years of their traveling to the top traditional jazz festivals throughout North America to their show two Sundays a month at Hermann's Jazz Club right in downtown Victoria. Full stage and grand piano allow the band to be at their best in showcasing their music. All ages are welcome so book a table and enjoy an afternoon of New Orleans jazz, ragtime, blues and swing standards. And then there’s that dance floor!
It is always fun for CanUS to share our stage with guests and today we feature Bob Cadwallader adding his musical voice on trombone and of course, Al Pease filling out the front line on clarinet & tenor sax with Mike Broadley on trumpet playing the happy jazz of New Orleans.
A Victoria jazz icon over the past 50 years, Al Pease brings his trademark swing to all genres and groups he performs with. Steeped in the music of Benny Goodman, Billie Holiday, Lester Young, and Coleman Hawkins, he draws on the essential roots of jazz to bring his swinging style to the stage. Along with Mike Broadley with Joey Smith, Don Leppard and Toni Blodgett backing them, some of the best musicians in Victoria form this band and its unique presentation of dixieland and swing favourites at everyone's first choice jazz listening and dancing venue. A long running tradition in Victoria although CanUS has also performed in jazz festivals across North America. Come. Enjoy!
