Jazz vocalist Tim Tamashiro is a jazz evangelist who strives to make jazz music fun and accessible. Perhaps best known as the host of “Tonic” on CBC Radio 2 for 10 years, Tamashiro is a passionate believer in jazz as the ultimate music education, while also believing that the spaces between songs are as important as the music—his stories are his secret sauce.

From his debut album Wiseass Crooner to 2016’s Drinky, it’s clear that above all else Tamashiro is dedicated to helping listeners discover the joy of jazz. Add in the “drinky jazz” philosophy that promises great songs, cold drinks, and bad jokes, this performance guarantees an evening of wonderful music and entertaining stories.

Tamashiro performs in Victoria as a swinging quartet, featuring Sheldon Zandboer piano, Kelby MacNayr drums, and John Hyde bass.
